Samsara and John Deere to partner for fleet management platform

Samsara Inc. has announced a new integration with John Deere to expand on its existing JDLink integration. The new integration plans to add features providing greater visibility into support vehicles on farming operations.

Samsara’s Connected Operations Cloud platform allows businesses to remotely monitor fleet and facility operations with GPS tracking and video recording, from one unified application. With collected data, Samsara’s platform can develop automated key workflows, turn data into actionable insights, identify security risks, among performing other available services.

The new integration brings support vehicles in agriculture, like fuel trucks, service trucks, and pickups, into the John Deere Operations Center map, an online farm management system that enables remote access to farm information. Support vehicles equipped with Samsara Vehicle Gateways — an accessory that provides GPS tracking and Wi-Fi to connected vehicles, and acts as a dashcam hub — can now be monitored alongside JDLink-enabled equipment and machinery, all on one platform.

This consolidated view allows owners to have complete visibility over all of their farming equipment and vehicles, and as a result can potentially improve efficiency, uptime, and communication workflows.

“Bringing our customers the highest quality products and services is always top of mind at John Deere,” says Matt Daniels, product marketing manager at John Deere. “Now, with the power of Samsara devices on farm support vehicles, customers have a way to stay on top of where everyone is to improve farm logistics. We’re excited about this next stage in our relationship with Samsara and are looking forward to what the future holds as we continue to build together.”

The Samsara integration with John Deere Operations Center is now currently available in early access for eligible support vehicles in the United States and Canada. For more information, visit samsara.com
