John Deere 7R tractor gets mid-year updates
The model year 2023 John Deere 7R series of tractors is getting new updates and options, including a reactive steering mode for on-road transport.
This series of tractors are designed to maneuver around tight spaces, intended for hay growers, livestock producers, row crop, and small grains farms.
The 7R has been updated with 50% larger hydraulic components in the steering system for increased steering capacity, increasing maneuverability for farmers using larger front tires or heavy front implements. The 7R can also be equipped to operate triple-mounted mower conditioners and large square balers that require extra PTO and hydraulic power.
“They also provide excellent maneuverability that comes in handy when cleaning livestock pens and barns,” days Ryan Jardon, marketing manager for John Deere.
Updated options
The new, optional Reactive Steering mode is an available upgrade to provide a driving experience closer to a car or truck while driving on the road. This is designed to make it easier to drive in a straight line with less effort by the driver. Reactive steering also assists in returning the tractor’s steering wheel to a neutral position.
Other options available include ActiveCommand Steering 2, which reduces the amount of steering input required in field applications in order to prevent oversteering when a quick reaction needs to be made.
Deere has also partnered with PTG for central tire inflation systems on select 7R tractors. This will offer dynamic tire pressure, with higher pressures on the road, and lower pressures in the field.
Availability
The midyear updates for the John Deere 7R series will be available on eight models ranging from 250- to 350-rated engine horsepower. The updated tractors are available to order now. For more information, visit JohnDeere.com.
