Case IH introduces new series of WD5 windrowers

Case IH has introduced the WD5 series windrower to its line up of self-propelled harvesting equipment. The WD5 series windrowers boast transport speeds up to 30 mph and field speeds up to 20 mph.

“Producers are looking for reliable harvesting equipment that consistently saves time without sacrificing quality,” said Brian Spencer, Case IH hay and forage equipment marketing manager. “The WD5 series windrower does just that by allowing farmers to cover more acres per hour and harvest more high-quality hay in a day. With faster transport and field speeds, farmers can save valuable time and make the most of each harvest window.”

The WD5 windrowers are compatible with the Case IH’s RD5 series windrower headers. To further increase efficiency, the triple-windrow attachment on the RD5 can save time, fuel and labor by combining up to three windrows.

Smooth Operator

The WD5 series windrowers are designed to have a quiet, comfortable cab. The Case IH SurroundVision cab includes larger entry steps, leather ventilated seat and additional window tinting for a cool and comfortable workday. The WD5 series windrower also includes the MultiFunction Handle to emulate the function and feel of Case IH’s axial-flow combine.

Independent air-assisted rear-axle suspension and tuned cab suspension means better stabilization and a smoother ride. Designed to excel through hilly areas, the drivetrain design produces over 11,000 foot-pounds of torque, and a four-link rear suspension provides stability and reduces the need for added ballast.

Redesigned Tech

A redesigned precision ground drive system monitors wheel speed differences and self-compensates by adjusting wheel speeds for enhanced straight-line tracking. A drive-by-wire ground propulsion and steering system help make road transport and field work simple.

Every model in the WD5 series is guidance-ready to provide cutting accuracy within 1.5 inches, so technology is integrated into the cab experience, along with the Advanced Farming Systems (AFS) Pro 700 display. Case IH guidance solutions help eliminate pass-to-pass overlap, even at field speeds up to 20 mph. An automated headland management feature controls ground speed, header lift and merger lift to make headland turns effortless and accurate.
