Case IH 2150S Early Riser planter
Case IH is expanding its line of planters with the 2150S Early Riser front-fold trailing planter, available in five different configurations.
A larger 525-gallon fertilizer tank capacity and increased seed capacity allows operators to cover more acres between fills and make the most of their time in the field.
This planter is well suited for the farmer who wants to plant 15-inch soybeans, then take that same planter and plant with 30-inch row spacing, or plant with narrow-row spacing for cover crops.
“Operators should feel ready to take on the day as efficiently as possible,” says David Brennan, Case IH planter marketing manager. “The 2150S Early Riser model will help them do just that. Better yet, producers can feel confident that planting is completed accurately for optimal yield results, thanks to an agronomically designed row unit.”
We have contact
To keep consistent contact with the ground, even on unstable terrain, the 2150S has a wing flex of 15° up and 15° down from neutral position. Additionally, row units have 16 inches of travel to help maintain seed-to-soil contact.
Returning from the 2150 models, optional hydraulic wing downforce automatically manages proper seed depth control on wings across the entire planter.
All of this is controlled with in-cabin hydraulic controls. Farmers are also able to adjust row units from 15-inch to 30-inch spacing with no manual lifting or tools required. When planting in a split-row configuration, row units are offset by nearly 50 inches to help increase residue flow and minimize plugging.
Stay another round
With 100 bushels of total seed capacity between two 50-bushel tanks, and optional individual tank scales, operators can plant at higher rates, covering more acres.
“We want to plan tendering better,” says Brennan. “We want a grower to understand exactly where he is in terms of how much seed is left.”
Case IH is offering an optional 525-gallon tank on the 2150S planter so operators can stay in the field longer between refills. The liquid fertilizer system is designed to have accurate application rates thanks to multiple factory-installed options, including frame-mounted coulters and in-furrow options.
Case IH has further optimized its planter by removing one of two vacuum fans. One vacuum fan can run all five configurations; this minimizes oil and fuel consumption from the tractor.
Easy transport
The 2150S has a narrow transport width of 13 feet and an on-screen, step-by-step folding-and-unfolding system for a quick transition from transport to field operation. Operators also have in-cab hydraulic control of all rear subframe row units, including the center main frame row units.
“We understand customers will take these down some roads that are maybe narrow,” says Brennan. “And they don’t want to have a lot of room consumed in their machine shed by off-season storage, so it folds up into a nice narrow transport window.”
Pricing and availability
The 2150S series will launch with five different models:
- 23 rows with 15-inch spacing, 30-foot bar
- 24 rows with 15-inch spacing, 30-foot bar
- 31 rows with 15-inch spacing, 40-foot bar
- 32 rows with 15-inch spacing, 40-foot bar
- 24 rows with 20-inch spacing, 40-foot bar
